![]() I almost bought one over the holiday, but I'm trying not to buy 'tactical' looking things anymore so I passed(I have enough). They have a sale going, and some of their clearance looks like good deals. If I did my perspective would likely be different. I would get an used or surplus Eagle Ind, LBT or Tac Tailor bag before I bought a GR for twice the price, but I don't hang in the groups of people who like GR. Go Ruck is a fine backpack and all of the other firefighters think you are a boss. There is an argument to be made, but no one wants to hear that about -their- action figures. ![]() ![]() That's like calling an action figure a doll. but the cross fit, mud run, 'first responder' guys like GoRuck and will talk up the toughness of the pack as their reason or the made in USA aspect, because to say "its the cool brand all my friends aspire owning and I want to flex by being able to afford it no sweat" is not a cool thing to say. There are brands that military guys think are cooler than GR, there are brands that urban minimalist techwearists think are cooler than GR, there are brands that outdoorsy ultralight hiker people think are cooler than GR. that comes from a brand like GoRuck - you aren't taking chances on a lesser known brand and you don't have to research or buy 5 bags to figure out which one will withstand your tuff mudder course or w/e you use it for. There are military bags nearly identical for 2/3 the price but those brands don't have the same cache of cool points in certain circles that the goruck brand has and that is important to some people whether they realize it or not. I hope I don't offend anyone with my take.
